About the Player:After his outstanding rookie season Henrik Lundqvist is considered one of the best goalies in the NHL. He quickly had become a fan favorite in New York. This Swedish born goalie won two Swedish Elistserien titles (2003 & 2005) before coming to the NHL. He was also named Best Goaltender, Best Swedish player and league MVP in 2005.
During his first season in the NHL Lundqvist was chosen to represent the Swedish National team in the 2006 Olympics, he lead the team to the Gold Medal. He posted a 5-1 record and only allowed 12 goals.
Lundqvist recorded 30 wins in his rookie season, the most by a Rangers rookie. He ended with a 2.24 goal against average (5th in the NHL and .922 save percentage (4th best). Ranger's fans everywhere expect many great things from King Henrik in the years to come. They are sure to see many fantastic saves for years to come.
