This is a great piece of hockey memorabilia. Piece is in mint condition and has been double matted in red and silver acid free matting. The 2006 Stanley cup victory was the first for the Hurricanes and the first professional championship for any North Carolina based team. They Hurricanes defeated the Edmonton Oilers (4-3) marking the first time two former WHA franchises played in the Final. Rod Brind’Amour was honored with the Conn Smythe Trophy, becoming the fourth rookie to be honored with the MVP trophy. Many of the Cane’s had waited many years to hold up the Stanley Cup, Rod Brind’Amour (15 Years), Bret Hedican (15 Years) and Glen Wesley, the last remaining Hartford Whaler (17 years).
