About the Player Sergio Garcia is a Spanish born golfer who has been ranked in the PGA top 10 for a number of years. He has won a number of PGA tournaments including the 2001 MasterCard Colonial in Fort Worth, Texas (his first tournmanet win), 2001 & 2004 Buick Classic, 2002 Mercedes Championships, 2004 EDS Byron Nelson Championship and 2005 Booz Allen Classic. Sergio also plays a limited schedule on the European Tour, where he has also won six times. One of his best matches came in 1999 when he battled Tiger Woods for the PGA Championship. Late in the final round García hit his most famed shot: with his ball up against a tree trunk and the green hidden from view, he swung hard with his eyes shut (lest the ball rebound and hit him) and hit a low curving straight shot that ran up onto the green, during which he sprinted madly into the fairway and then jumped to see the result. He would finish second to Tiger in the tournament. Many have refered to Garcia as the best golfer to never win a major but any true fan knows his time will come.
