About the Player After winning the Sugar Bowl in 1982 and putting up fantastic numbers for the University of Pittsburgh, an Marino was selected by the Miami Dolphins in the 1983 NFL draft. The 1983 draft is considered one of the best ever for Quarter backs (John Elway and Jim Kelley were also drafted that year). Marino quickly became the starting Quarter Back in Miami, he lead the Dolphins to the division title in his rookie year. The following year he would lead tem to another division title, the Super Bowl and also be named the NFL MVP. Marino led the Dolphins to four division titles during his career (1983, 1984, 1992, 1994). Marino was a 9-time Pro Bowler (1983-1987, 1991-1992, 1994-1995) and holds many NFL records: Most Career Attempts (8,358), Most Career Completions (4,967), Most Career Yards Passing (61,361), Most Career Touchdown Passes (420), Most Passing Yards Season (5,084 in 1984), Most Career Games, 400 or more Yards Passing (13), Most Games, 400 or more Yards Passing, Season (4 in 1984), Most Career Games, 300 or more Yards Passing (60), Most Seasons, 3,000 or more Yards Passing (13), Most Consecutive Seasons, 3,000 or more Yards Passing (9 from 1984 to 1992) and many more. His dominance of the NFL during his career was rewarded with his election to the Football Hall of Fame in 2005 (he is also a member of the College Football Hall of Fame - Class of 2003). His number 13 was also retired by the Dolphins. He will go down in history as one of the greatest quarter backs of all time.
