About the Player
Selected with the first overall pick of the 1998 NFL Draft Peyton manning has lived up to expectations. He is considered the best quarterback of this generation. He owns many NFL passing records including most touch down passes in a season (49 in 2004), and consecutive season with over 4,000 yards passing (6 from 1999-2004).
During his college career at the University of Tennessee, where he holds almost all the school passing records, Peyton received many awards, 1997 Davey O'Brien Award, 1997 Johnny Unitas Award - Awarded to the Nation's Top Quarterback, 1997 Maxwell Award - Nation's Top Player, 1997 College Football All-America Team, 1997 James E. Sullivan Award, and the 1997 Today's Top VIII Award .
As a member of the Colts he has continuously showed his skill to read the defense, change plays on the line of scrimmage and throw a pass with pinpoint accuracy. He had one of the best seasons in history in 2004 and was awards the league MVP (He was also the 2003 MVP).
During his amazing 2004 season Manning set many NFL single season passing records: highest passer rating (121.1), Consecutive games with at least 4 TD passes (5), 5 TD passes in 4 different games in less than 12 months, First QB to throw 10+ TD passes to each of 3 different receivers in 1 season (14, Marvin Harrison; 12, Reggie Wayne; 10, Brandon Stokley).
Many fans believe that all of his skills will lead to the Colts winning a Super Bowl and Manning being elected to the Football Hall of Fame.
