About the Player
Warren Moon started his profesional career in the Canadian Football League as the starting Quarterbacks for the Edmonton Eskimos. He went undrafted out of college even after leading the University of Washington to a Rose Bowl victory (1978). After winning two Grey Cup MVP awards in the Canadian Football League (1980 & 1982) the Houston Oilers signed him as their starting Quarterback in 1984. Warren hold many Oilers Quarterback records, he was the starter from 1984 to 1993. Warren was named to 9 Pro Bowl awards and won the MVP of the game in 1997.
His best year caem in 1990 when he lead the league with passing yards (4,689 ), attempts (584), completions (362) and touchdowns (33). That year he was named AP Offensive Player of the Year and UPI AFC Player of the Year.
It is quite an achievement for an undrafted Quarterback to be named to the NFL Hall of Fame (2006), the only black Quarterback to hold this honor. He was also named to the Canadian Football Hall of Fame (2001) even though he only played there for 6 years.
