About the Player: Allen Iverson has been one the most productive players in the NBA over the last several seasons. He won the 1996-97 NBA Rookie of the Year, the 2000-01 Most Valuable Player, and a two-time All-Star MVP (2001,2005). He considered one of the best guards ever to play the game. Drafted by the 76ers with the 1st overall pick of the 1996 draft, Iverson was well known for his play at Georgetown. He averaged 23.5 points per game (6th in the NBA), 7.5 assists (11th) and 2.07 steals (7th) to lead all rookies. He has improved each year since and currently holds a 28 points per game average, trailing only Michael Jordan by 2.1 PPG for all-time best. Iverson also lead the American Olympic team to the 2004 Bronze Medal. Iverson is sure to go down in history as one of the greatest players ever to step on a court. His ability to score in so many ways (driving to the basket, drawing fouls, shooting from the outside and creating shoots) combined with his size (only six feet tall) make him an oddity of the game and further illustrates his greatness.
