Opened on April 18, 1923 Yankees Stadium was the first baseball park that was refered to as a Stadium and not a field or park. It was later nicknamed "The House that Ruth Built" and considered the most popular stadium in the world.
Since it opened Yankee Stadium has been the host to 37 of the last 83 World Series. The Yankees won 26 of those contests.
